A husband and wife team, we’ve found our happy place anywhere that love grows. Whether that’s in the house we are now making a home with our master Thunder, the British Shorthair, or capturing the little moments of realness in love stories like yours. We wholeheartedly believe that every love story is extraordinary. Your engagement is the product of countless seemingly insignificant moments. And just like you, our own love story is a testament to the power of those seemingly ordinary yet remarkable moments that end up shaping your life forever.
Back in 2011, Rob found himself immersed in the hardcore music scene as a member of a band. With regular performances at Heidi's local venue, the stage was set for our paths to cross. Amidst the music and the roaring crowds, one of us eventually made the first move and our love story took a beautifully old-fashioned twist. And when we finally did, the world made sense. Over a decade of togetherness has taught us that life is about taking chances. There is magic to be found in the unknown, and love has a remarkable way of surprising you when you least expect it.
Fast forward to today and photography is our shared passion and one of the things that made us closer as a couple. We’ve spent years exploring new places near and far, and even though our backdrop has often changed, some things remained constant - a love for love, the outdoors, and a camera in our backpack. We only take life seriously when it really matters, and our photography style is a mix of our personalities - our love for music, nature, adventure and documentary-style photography

HEIDI
I’m usually the one taking the photographs. I love finding the balance in creating effortlessly candid yet endlessly romantic images. My style focuses on the whole story of an image - blending a keen interest in fashion, street and landscape photography with an adoration of the raw moments between two people in love. How you felt on your wedding day, not just how you looked. I’m creative, passionate and my obsession with the finer details is insane.
Basically, I’m a Leo through and through.

As Lead videographer, I’m usually the one documenting your day from the clouds and from the ground. I’m a shameless romantic and absolutely committed to catching you vibing on film. Give me a happy couple in love at golden hour and I’m in my element. Apart from Heidi and our fur child Chungus, music is my everything and bass guitar is my muse. Life is about spreading love and happiness, creating experiences and doing bits. And if I can catch all that on film, life is good

''We knew we wanted a videographer, but our taste was specific. We’d looked for hours to find the perfect match, probably more so than any other supplier. Well….. Excluding someone to look after our pooch (which by the was captured and interacted with perfectly, Biscuit loved them.
I don’t think I was quite prepared for how lovely, and genuine these guys were. I can’t imagine there’s a soul out there they couldn’t put at ease. They really felt apart of our wedding, and were a joy to be around.
We received our video New Year’s Eve and absolutely sobbed, I must have watched it a thousand times. Their warmth, and kindness really shon through the end result which was Filmed and edited Beautifully.''

''If we could give 10/5, we would! Where to begin, Rob & Heidi are absolutely delightful. Right from the initial message, they were friendly, informative and excited (which made us even more so!). After booking them for our wedding, we decided to book a mini shoot to get to know them before the big day - HIGHLY recommend (even if its just to hang out - they are fab!).
. When they arrived, we knew straight away how special they are and how at ease we would be. They are so friendly and the shoot was so much fun! We initially paid for 150 photos and received nearly 200 as Heidi said she loved them all which we were so grateful for!!

NOW
We navigated launching a new business with a booked-out calendar through a pandemic and rearranged our own dream wedding in between. We took a chance and quit our full-time jobs to focus solely on Firewood Film and doing what we love, for life. And now, we couldn’t imagine doing anything else. This journey has taught us that love, positivity and kindness can get you through anything and so these are the values we champion in our business.
WE SMASHED IT!
Firewood Film was born and we turned our passion into a paid gig. We said yes to every experience, practising our craft and exploring our signature style and how we wanted our business to feel and found weddings were where we could get our fix of creating epic images and cinematic films of real people in real love.

With an urge to document everything we saw, we spent time exploring the world and enjoying life as a couple and sharing our journey with the world. From Iceland to Portugal to Germany and a heap of places in between, if the vibe was chilled and the light was right, we were happy.
